SMOK TFV8 X-Baby Review | Top Airflow and No Leaks

SMOK TFV8 X-Baby Intro

Did you think SMOK was ever going to stop? Hell no! They have only been grinding harder. Today we’ll have a look at the TFV8 X-Baby, the latest edition to the family. My first thought was, “WHY!?”. The Baby Beast works fine, why would they change it?

Upon further inspection, I see what they did here… Imagine the Baby Beast, but with top airflow, instead of having it on the bottom. You got it, brother!

Notable Remarks

We are family

Smok_TFV8_X_Baby

It’s a boy! Oh wait, it’s a sub ohm tank. Another one!?

You know how SMOK gets down. They take no breaks when it comes to improving their already successful line of products. Today we have the latest edition to their family called the X-Baby, otherwise known as the SMOK TFV8 Baby Beast Brother… Say hello to your new baby brother.

Did they really need to improve the Baby Beast? Probably not, but if you like top-airflow, this one’s for you. The question becomes, how will this airflow system impact flavor and vapor production? More importantly, how does it compare to the original TFV8 line, and other tankson the market?

Oh brother, here we go again…

Atomizer construction

Smok_TFV8_X_Baby

SMOK seems to have stepped up their game in terms of machining. The X-Baby feels a bit sturdier than the previous TFV8’s I’ve tested. The top-fill portion is identical, but seems to lock into place a little better than the original Baby Beast. A minor improvement that is surely worth mentioning.

The airflow control is firm, yet easy to adjust. SMOK engineered the perfect balance with this one, and made it possible through expert machining. They didn’t just slap on top-airflow, they made it better. Unfortunately, the tank is incompatible with the original Baby Beast coils, but hey, C’est la vie.

I have yet to experience the paint chipping. It seems to be an anodized finish. Only time will tell, so far so good. But then again, it is SMOK, so I will remain skeptical. If the paint holds up well, then I think they might want to consider coloring their mods in a similar fashion. *Cough* Alien *Cough*

Other than that, the only issue I’ve found is that the included drip tip wasn’t so easy to remove.

Performance

Smok_TFV8_X_Baby

You’re probably wondering, well, how does it vape? I wish I could say it performs just as well as the original Baby Beast, but that would be a lie. The flavor and cloud production is on par with the rest of the TFV8 line, however the performance was rather wonky to be honest. I was getting dry, funky hits on the X-Baby, with both pre-built coil heads, running it on the lowest wattage recommendations.

The flavor is superb one minute, but then it will cut out randomly, not just when chain vaping. There were moments where I would get a dry hit on my first puff! I never had this sort of issue with the Baby Beast. It boggles my mind why SMOK would take one of their best products, and make it worse.

Once I installed the RBA section, it was a whole different story. As a rebuildable atomizer, this thing is great. As a sub ohm tank, not so much. I would recommend the Baby Beast over the X-Baby any day. However, if you want a rebuildable tank that also takes pre-made coil heads, it might be for you.

Building

Smok_TFV8_X_Baby

Just as I was about to give up on this thing, I popped in the RBA head and see how it compares. I’m glad I did, because now I am in love. The flavor is on point with some of the best RTAs I’ve tested. Building on the velocity style deck was effortless, and I didn’t have to do anything special to wick it.

It is always recommended not to stuff too much cotton into the wick holes. It also helps to cut your wicks in a diamond-shape, so that they are tapered on the ends. I didn’t do any of that. In fact, I used too much cotton on purpose, just to push its limits. I have yet to get a dry hit while using it as an RTA.

It even came with pre-installed 0.38 Ohm dual-Claptons, which happens to already be my go-to build.

Likes

  • Expertly machined
  • Top-airflow design prevents leakage
  • Drip tip doesn’t overheat
  • Massive cloud production and flavor
  • Easy to build and wick (with RBA head)
  • Handles Max-VG liquids well
  • Easy top-filling system
  • Comes in eight colors (with optional resin drip tip)
  • TPD-compliant version available

Dislikes

  • Random dry hits
  • RBA-section sold separately
  • Incompatible with original SMOK Baby Beast coils

Verdict

I don’t even know what to say. As a sub ohm tank, the X-Baby isn’t terrible. But If you like to take long puffs, especially at higher wattages, you probably won’t be satisfied with it. Unless you absolutely NEED top-airflow, it’s more of a downgrade from the original Baby Beast series than anything.

Sure, the new airflow system prevents leakage, but that was never an issue for me with the original. The top-airflow doesn’t enhance flavor or clouds, although it does make a rather pleasant sound when vaping. Other than that, save your money, especially if you already own a TFV8 Baby Beast.

We have already received some feedback from our readers on social media regarding the dry hits, so it wasn’t just my experience. Taking longer puffs at wattages above 40 W doesn’t pan out too well.

However, if you’re looking for a great RTA that’s also compatible with pre-built coil heads, it might be worth considering. Once you install your coils and wick it up, the flavor is incredible. I could crank this badboy up all the way to 70 Watts with a 0.38 Ohm build, and chain vape it without fear of a dry hit.

What has YOUR experience been with the X-Baby? Have you tried it with the RBA-section yet?

Freemax Mesh Pro Sub Ohm Tank Review – Perfection From Freemax – Again!

Mesh pro on modIntroduction: The Mesh Pro Sub Ohm Tank from Freemax

The Freemax Mesh Pro is the new sub ohm tank which now has multiple mesh coils.

The Freemax Fireluke Mesh was a huge hit and I loved in – that much I now own 3 of them!

The Mesh Pro is not compatible with the existing Fireluke Mesh coil heads but it is compatible with the existing Freemax Fireluke standard tank coils.

The kit includes the new Fireluke Single mesh coil and the Double mesh. There is a new triple mesh coil which you can purchase too.

The standard capacity is 6ml but there are also bubble glass options for 4ml and 5ml. Expect the capacity to be limited to 2ml for sale in the EU due to the TPD regulations.

The tank has a slide top fill system and adjustable airflow on the base.

The gold plated 510 connection can also be adjusted for use on mods which haven’t got spring loaded connectors.

There are 6 resin colours to choose from – Purple, Black, Pink, Orange, Green and Blue. Plus recently released are 5 stainless steel versions in Black, Gun, Rainbow, Golden or Silver.

I have been really looking forward to this – let’s get her filled up and fired up!

This tank was sent to me for purposes of a review but my opinions are my own based on the performance of the tank I received.

Build Quality & Design

My Freemax Mesh Pro tank came in the Purple Resin colour and the tank glass does have “Not for sale” etched into it – so that does appear on some of my photos I am afraid!

I have to say although the resin finish is beautiful this tank is not as pretty as the Fireluke Mesh. Pictured below is the Mesh Pro with the original Fireluke Mesh in Rainbow SS.fireluke mesh in mesh for

The glass installed is the 5ml tall glass, but the kit also includes the 6ml Pyrex bubble glass.mesh pro with bubble

It looks very tall and the top and bottom cap don’t flow with the bubble glass.mesh pro standing view

As this was a strange colour to match to a mod – I found it didn’t look right with a black mod – so I decided the VZone Graffiti was a good match!mesh pro Vzone Graffiti

Build quality as usual from Freemax is just perfect, the top cap slides smoothly as does the airflow control ring. It is easy to unscrew the bottom of the tank for coil replacement.

The drip tip is an 810 fitment and due to the inclusion of an internal O-ring you can use drip tips with or without (Goon style) O-rings. The Goon style were a little loose on my tank though.

How Does the Freemax Mesh Pro Tank Perform?

Basic operation

Not much to tell you here – other than to adjust the airflow turn the ring at the base of the tank. This will expose the airflow inlet slots. Fully open slot = unrestricted airflow and you can close the slot by rotating the ring to suit your preference.

How To Fill The Tank

  • Look for the red dot on the ring just below the top of the tank.mesh pro filling marker
  • Push the top cap across at the point of the red dot.
  • Squeeze liquid into the filling port – Freemax say to fill to 3/4 full.freemax mesh pro fill port
  • Slide the top cap back into position.

How To Install The Coil Head

  • Remove the tank from the mod.
  • Turn the tank upside down – if it is more than about a quarter full you will get some liquid coming out of the drip tip – so have some tissue to hand!
  • Unscrew the base of the tank.
  • If a coil is installed this is simply unscrewed from the tank base.mesh pro coil removed
  • Screw a new coil head into the tank base.
  • Screw the tank base onto the tank.
  • Fill the tank and leave to stand for at least 10 minutes – these are mesh coils with a lot of wicking and a dry hit will not be pleasant!

You can also use the coils for the original Freemax Fireluke tank in the Mesh Pro.freemax coils

Flavour & Cloud Production

This is a sub ohm tank so you need high VG e-liquid.

I used my usual 80% VG 6mg nicotine Stika Bombz Fruit Salad liquid as I find it easy to compare between tanks.

The airflow was best for me in the mid position but wide open is barely any restriction and you can close it off completely – so everything inbetween!

Freemax Kanthal Double Mesh Coil

I started off at 60W which was a very cool vape. From 65W onwards this tank comes alive.

70-75W OMG such a smooth beautiful cloudy tasty vape! I already love this tank!

At 80-85W the taste is so warm it’s like eating your e-liquid it is that good. At 90W it is still good and loads of vapour. What a performer this tank with the double coil is!

My preference was 75W – nice and warm not hot, really tasty and lots of vapour. Well done Freemax I didn’t think the Fireluke Mesh could be improved on. In fact this coil for me kills even the Horizon Falcon Mesh!

Freemax Kanthal Single Mesh Coil

This is a single coil of 0.15ohm and rated for 40-70W.

So I started at 45W – not much flavour but a good cloud from this coil even at this low wattage.

Moving up the wattage I found the taste didn’t really kick in until over 65W, I like this best at 70-75W. This is a lot drier vapour and not as pure flavour as the double. This coil made me really thirsty!

Flavour wise this isn’t a patch on the double mesh – but it’s a decent performer. However the vapour production is excellent.

If you prefer clouds to pure taste this is the coil for you! Personally I couldn’t wait to get the double mesh coil back in the tank!

Pros

  • Huge e-liquid capacity plus additional tank options.
  • Plenty of coil options to suit your preference.
  • Excellent build quality.
  • Filling is much easier than Fireluke Mesh
  • Plenty of options for your own 810 drip tip

Cons

  • Not quite as pretty as the original Fireluke Mesh – but that is my opinion.
  • Drip tip is very wide and the walls are very thin – doesn’t affect the vapour but feels a bit too big for me.
  • Would have been nice to have the triple mesh coil in the kit too.

Final Review Verdict

I started testing this tank with the double mesh and within 10 vapes I had fallen in love. My favourite Sub Ohm tank was previously the Horizon Falcon but I have to say the Freemax Mesh Pro has now taken that crown.

The double mesh coil gives a beautiful flavour in a smooth warm to hot vape. It is so smooth you can almost feel the tickle on your tastebuds as your e-liquids come alive. Also so far I have had 11 days use from the double mesh coil and it still tastes amazing!

The single coil performs well just not a patch on the double. However the vapour production is really surprising from the single mesh!

Just buy it – it is amazing. If like me you love the flavour and vapour from rebuildables but haven’t the hand dexterity, time or motivation to build decks – this is a very respectable alternative.

Bad points – well it isn’t as pretty as the original Fireluke Mesh and some might say it is a bit greedy on e-liquid – I found it no more greedy than other Mesh tanks I own. Plus I love vaping on this so much I am actually vaping a lot heavier.

I would love to try the triple mesh coil too – sadly this was not included in the kit which is a shame and I will have to buy a 3 pack of these just to try it out? I might spend my money on the double mesh instead as I already know I love those.

Everything else about this tank is incredible – Freemax have pulled out another winner!

GeekVape Nova Kit Review

GeekVape are better known for their atomizers than for their mods, but following the success of the extremely durable GeekVape Aegis, they’ve been focusing quite a lot on this sector of the vaping market. Their latest creation, the GeekVape Nova 200W box mod, is a mix of old an modern, fusing the classic box mod design with the popular resin panels that so many companies are using these days. The kit also comes with the GeekVape Cerberus sub-ohm tank and mesh coil-heads that should bring out the flavor in your favorite e-liquid. Let’s have a closer look at the GeekVape Nova kit:

A Look at the Contents

I can’t comment too much on the packaging for the GeekVape Nova, as the black box I received is most likely an early version designed specifically for reviewers. It’s basically a plain black rectangular box, with a small GeekVape logo and a tiny white sticker that just says ‘Nova Kit’. The final version will undoubtedly have a different look and feature a list of contents, company information as well as all the required warnings.

Inside the box, we have the Nova 200W box mod sitting in a Styrofoam holder, and underneath that we have the Cerberus sub-ohm tank and a bag of accessories – a micro-USB charging cable for the mod, a spare glass section, several o-rings as well as an extra coil-head, for the tank, and user manuals for both the mod and the tank.

Design and Build Quality

The GeekVape Nova features a classic, some would even call it vintage, box mod design. It’a rectangular device with only slightly beveled corners and edges and controls located on one of the narrow sides. In many ways, it is very similar to the VooPoo Drag. The dimensions are almost exactly the same, they have the exact same button configuration and similar displays, and they both feature resin panels. So did GeekVape use the Drag as an inspiration for its new Nova mod? They don’t say, and we can only speculate, but the two mods are indeed very similar.

Like the Drag, the GeekVape Nova isn’t exactly the most ergonomic dual 18650 battery mod money can buy. It’s beveled edges don’t really dig into the palm of your hand while you’re holding it, but the mod isn’t nearly as comfortable in the hand as other dual-battery devices, like the Smoant Charon Mini or the Eleaf Lexicon, to name just a couple that I reviewed recently. If you’re a fan of the classic box mod look, you’ll probably love it, but if you’re more into compact, rounded vape mods, it may not be for you.

Starting from the top, we have a simple 510 connection located near the center of the mod, with a weird oval-shaped plate around it. I don’t really get why they put the 510 there instead of dead in the center of the mod, or to the side, since the Nova is just 25mm wide, so any atomizer with larger diameter than 25mm will overhang anyway. As for the shape of the plate, I for one just think it looks awkward.

On the sides of this mod we have a combination of resin and metal. The resin takes up about two thirds of the side panels, with the rest of the mod made of a lightweight aluminum alloy. I know most companies prefer zinc alloy, but aluminum does have its advantages. For example, the Nova weighs just 120 grams without batteries, making it one of the lightest dual-battery mods available.

The resin comes in different color combinations and has a wavy texture that not only gives it an interesting look, but also  slightly improves your grip on the mod. After careful inspection, I can confirm that the resin panels feel very smooth and have no visible imperfections, which is a big plus. It’s a lot better than the resin on the Wismec Luxotic NC, and even that on the gorgeous Stentorian Basilisk. I will be interesting to see how it will hold up, especially seeing as the resin is exposed on three sides. One thing’s for sure, you definitely don’t want to drop this mod on concrete or asphalt, because the chances of the resin chipping or cracking are very high.

It’s important to note that the panels of the GeekVape Nova are not interchangeable. One of them is glued in place and the other is a magnetic battery door. I suppose you could swap the second with a different color one, but I don’t see why anyone would want to do that.

To make it easier to remove the battery door, the mod has a small notch on one of the upper corners. Just insert your fingernail in there and pull the door off. This notch is usually somewhere at the bottom, to make it less visible, but in this case, that would of mean cutting it into the resin, which didn’t make any sense. The battery compartment is very clean, the two battery bays have clear polarity markings and you even have a textile ribbon to make the batteries easier to remove. The magnets do a great job of keeping the door in place at all times, so you don’t have to worry about it accidentally coming off or even wobbling in the hand.

The layout of the buttons match the classic look of the mod. We have a large, metallic fire button near the top, a rectangular LCD display, two small ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons and a micro-USB port for charging and firmware upgrades.

On the bottom, of the mod we usually see venting holes, but in this case, all we have is the ‘Nova’ name and ‘Designed by GeekVape’. That isn’t necessarily a con though, as in case of battery venting, the magnetic door would pop off due to gas build-up. But you don’t even need to worry about that if you take battery safety seriously.

All in all, the GeekVape Nova is an interesting-looking vape mod that should appeal most to fans of classic box mods and resin. I’m sure that many would describe its classic design as outdated, but it helps remembering that taste is subjective. Build quality is ok, although the light weight of the aluminum alloy body and resin inserts can feel a bit cheap. It’s not.

Menu System and Navigation

The GeekVape Nova is powered by the same AS Chip that the Chinese company used on the Aegis Legend mod, and it shows. Both mods have the exact same menu layout and navigation system.

To turn the GeekVape Nova vape mod on/off , press the fire button five times, in rapid succession. To get into the setting menu, simply press the fire button three times rapidly. Here, you can scroll through the multiple operating modes – Power, Temperature Control (for stainless steel, titanium and nickel), Bypass, TCR and VPC – by pressing the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons. To make your selection keep the fire button pressed for one second. Short pressing the fire button while one of the operating modes is highlighted will allow you to adjust some of the subparameters on the display.

The subparameters vary depending on what mode is highlighted, and only some of them can be adjusted. For example, in Power mode, you can only lock the resistance of the atomizer coil and reset the puff counter, while in TCR, you can also set the wattage you want the mod to fire at, as well as the temperature coefficient for your coil material.

The VPC mode is just the name GeekVape uses for custom power curve mode. Here you can adjust the power levels for 10 seconds, in 2-second increments, to create a custom vaping experience.

Focus On www.urvapin.com For More Vape Start Kit.

You can also lock the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons by pressing them simultaneously for two seconds, and adjust the brightness of the display by pressing the fire button and the ‘+’ or the ‘-‘ button at the same time.

All in all, the As Chip menu is very simple and intuitive. Everything is done on the home screen, there are no sub-menus to get lost in, and once you figure out when you have to long-press the fire button, things get very easy.

Battery Life and Performance

I have yet to review the GeekVape Aegis Legend, but I had seen some complaints on Reddit regarding battery life. Since the Nova mod uses the same chip, I was worried that it might suffer from the same problem, but, to be honest, I did not notice any notable difference in battery life compared to other dual 18650 battery nods I’ve been using. Either GeekVape updated the chip or the problem was never as serious as those complaints made it out to be.

The GeekVape Nova features fast on-board charging, but it’s recommended that you charge the batteries in an external dedicated charger.

As far as performance, the awkwardly sounding As Chip – I guess not as bad as VooPoo, though – has so far proven to be very reliable. I’ve had no issues with misfires or any unusual errors, and the firing speed and power ramp up have left me impressed. I’m not sure if this chip is developed in house by GeekVape, or if they’ve teamed up with another company, but it’s definitely a worthy competitor for the likes of VooPoo’s Gene chip or Smoant’s Ant 218 chip.

Does it really hit 200W? I have no idea, because I’ve never vaped that high and I don’t plan to either.

Like most of the mods I review, I mostly used the Nova 200W mod in Power Mode, simply because this is the operating mode I prefer, and, as I mentioned, so far performance has been very good, but I also played with the VPC mode a bit, as well and temperature control.

While I can’t say for sure that the VPC is accurately delivering the power levels set in the menu, because I haven’t measured it, it certainly feels that way when I vape. As for temp.control, I did pop an RDA with dual stainless steel coils on this mod and apart from brown marks on the cotton wicking – which occur with all but the most advanced vape mods out there – it seemed to be controlling the temperature pretty well.

The Tank

The Cerberus sub-ohm tank that comes bundled with the GeekVape Nova is really nothing to write home about. That’s not to say that it’s a bad tank, not at all, it just doesn’t bring anything new to the table. It’s just another 25mm sub-ohm tank the likes of which we’ve already seen before.

The Cerberus comes with a very low profile 810 Drip tip that sadly doesn’t match the colors of the mod’s resin panels. It’s just a plain Delrin drip tip, and it feels like a wasted opportunity. GeekVape could have opted for a resin drip tip, like they did on their popular Blitzen RTA, but they chose to go with a bland one instead.

The top cap features the same half-turn locking system we’ve seen on some of the Chinese company’s other atomizers, and the top-filling system is made up of two kidney-style slots. The slots could have been a bit wider, to fit thicker juice bottle tips but I’ve had no problem filling the Cerberus with a thick unicorn bottle, so I can’t really give it a con for that.

The GeekVape Cerberus has a capacity of 5.5ml with the bubble tank that comes pre-installed, but if you prefer the classic glass instead, the kit does also include a cylindrical glass section. Using that one will bring the juice capacity down to 4ml.

Mesh coils are all the rage right now, so it’s no surprise that the Cerberus sub-ohm tank comes with two Kanthal mesh coil-heads that promise to maximize flavors and vapor production. To be honest, the coils perform pretty well, but I was a bit disappointed to notice a difference in taste after only 3 days of juice. I had been using a DIY 80% VG juice with a fair bit of added sweetener, but still, three days didn’t really seem like a lot, considering that I was only refilling the tank once a day.

You’ll be happy to know that the Cerberus tank is compatible with SMOK Baby Beast coils, which opens up a wide range of coil options. These are probably the most widely used sub-ohm tank in the vaping world right now, so you can find them in various resistances and coil types.

Leaking is always a concern with atomizers, but I have yet to experience any such issues with the Cerberus tank. Apart from some minor spitback on the first few draws – likely due to the juice I dripped into the coil to prime the cotton wicking – it’s been dry as a bone.

Conclusion

The GeekVape Nova kit offers an interesting-looking mod that should appeal to fans of the classic box mod design, as well as those who appreciate the look and feel of resin inserts, and a sub-ohm tank that doesn’t feature any notable innovations, but delivers pretty good flavor and vapor thanks to the included mesh coil-heads.

Ijoy Pole Pod Kit – Folding “felt-tip pen”

Today, the company Ijoy decided to defuse the situation with its extreme creation, and I said to defuse it because it will be an ambitious AIO set that everyone loves and likes to read about them in our articles. It was sarcasm, if someone did not understand.

So, I present to you quite tolerable Ijoy Pole Pod Kit .

Then an interesting situation arose – it seems that this manufacturer is not famous for hiding information about its new products, and here they decided to hide the tank capacity and the resistance of the evaporator. I can’t say that these are vital TX, but without them it’s somehow “sad”. Okay, let’s look at what we have been provided.

Admittedly, the set looks very pretty, you should pay tribute to the designers. Against the background of other proposals for such an eye can catch, and isolate it from the assortment of diversity. Our hero is all so rounded, almost no sharp edges. Made carefully, except that the overall dimensions are not small, however, in his hand, and in your pocket, he settled in comfort.

As I understand it, the reservoir and battery compartment is a single unit. Screw something your own here will not work. Apparently, the capacity of the latter will be in the region of 2 ml, which is quite enough. Replaceable evaporator on ceramics, manufacturer hints at MTL usage.

1Intro
Hellvape Dead Rabbit RDA

It seems to be the prominent vaping trend of 2017, manufacturers pairing with YouTube reviews to design and market tanks or atomizers. At first, I thought it was just a good marketing gimmick, but most of the collaboration have produced some great atomizers; like the Serpent SMM RTA (Wotofo & Matt C) or the Pulse 22 & 24 RDAs (Vandy Vape & Tony B).

That’s why I always feel a little extra pressure when reviewing new products inspired or designed by vaping personalities. Simply in fear that a negative review might earn the disdain of thousands of loyal fans. Not that it truly matters, as we have to call them as we see them.

Well, once again my blushes have been saved, thankfully there’s no need for concern with the Hellvape & Heathen collaboration – the Dead Rabbit RDA.

Spoiler alert – this is the RDA I’ve been waiting for!

3Meet the Rabbit
Hellvape Dead Rabbit RDA

The Hellvape Dead Rabbit box contains a good amount of branding for both the company and Heathen. The deceased bunny logo is….well, dividing. Some may like it; I’m not the bunnies biggest fan.

The reason behind the name & branding:

The unique build deck does actually resemble rabbit ears. ‘Dead Rabbits’ is also the name of the Irish American gang from Heathen’s favorite movie Gangs of New York.

Due to the advanced nature of RDAs, where manufacturers assume a wealth of knowledge on the part of the buyer, they can sometimes skimp on the info in the boxes. However, I was pleased to see the back of the box contained an ample amount of information about the contents and RDA features. Hellvape highlight what’s inside the box, and what users can expect from this versatile RDA.

Inside users will get the Dead Rabbit RDA, a resin 810 drip-tip, 510 adapter, gold bottom-feeding pin for squonkers (more on this later), and the usual collection of spare parts.

4Build the Rabbit
Hellvape Dead Rabbit RDA

On disassembling the RDA, you’ll immediately notice the unique build deck. It’s comprised of gold plated positive connection posts and stainless steel negative, giving it a two-colored look. The deck takes the coils in from the top, and it allows the leads to slide through into a gap underneath. This should eliminate some of the guesswork you usually face with postless decks and allow for easier sizing and snipping off excess wire.

Unfortunately, however, this seems better in theory, than in practice. I attempted to feed the leads through a handful of times, but couldn’t quite get the hang of it. So I opted to snip them prior to installing, as usual. You may have better luck, but my impatience got the better of me, and I didn’t want to accidentally bend my coils.

The deck on the Dead Rabbit is raised, and once you get the coils seated, it holds them in place perfectly and has plenty of room for even the most complex builds. I think master coil builders will have a veritable playground with the Dead Rabbit’s build deck.

The airflow on the RDA is nothing special to look at, and I was a little skeptical that it would help provide enough flavor. Though it seems the sloped top-cap design is angled in such a way that it helps push the airflow right to the coil, and the flavor definitely does not disappoint. It produces rich, full-bodied, flavorful clouds – possibly the best I’ve had from any RDA. I usually measure vapor production against my 25mm Goon (it’s become the gold standard), and Dead Rabbit is certainly on par.

The Dead Rabbit RDA can function as either a single or dual-coil device. Though to be honest; I didn’t enjoy the single-coil setup nearly as much. The flavor seemed a little muted, and the airflow and cloud production uneven. I’d say stick to dual coil use to get the best from this RDA.

Hellvape Dead Rabbit RDA

The included 810 Delrin drip-tip is delightful. It remains cool and comfortable in the mouth and is capable of maximum airflow. It is actually one of the best wide-bore tips I’ve used to date. I’m glad they also included the 510-adapter, but the wide bore option gives much better airflow and mouthfeel.

One of the main impressive features of the RDA is the spacious 5mm juice well, which can hold a deceptive amount of juice. It’s supported by the raised build deck, which enabled me to use a decent amount of cotton, and it never dried out ahead of time, even at higher wattages.

That in my eyes is the killer feature of the Dead Rabbit. It’s a huge benefit for squonking fans, and that’s where I think this RDA really beats all others hands down.

5Squonk the Rabbit
Hellvape Dead Rabbit RDA

My bottom-feeder had been sitting on the shelf collecting dust. I decided to break it out and installed the included gold squonk pin to the Dead Rabbit, and I instantly fell in love. Like most vapers, my experience with squonker pins and RDAs has been a bit hit or miss. I feel squonk pins are often just chucked in as an oversight to appease vapers rather than designed to enhance the vaping experience.

Hellvape and Heathen have designed an RDA that maximizes its versatility by being a phenomenal squonker, with absolute leak-free performance.

I can’t stress how much I loved this RDA and the whole squonking experience it brought. The only way to describe it is paraphrasing words of Rip Trippers ‘Vaping is dead….Squonking is the future!’

Likes

  • Amazing flavor
  • Looks clean and simple
  • Deep juice well – great for over-drippers
  • Amazing for squonking
  • Straight-forward wicking
  • The best-included drip tip I have ever seen
  • Single/Dual coil building options
  • Decent fitting o-rings

Dislikes

  • Can potentially disturb the wick when removing the top cap to re-juice
  • Not the easiest to place coils, even though they can be trimmed after (unlike some postless RDAs)
  • I don’t mind the name, not a fan of the imprinted logo (subjective)
6Verdict

This Rabbit is certainly not dead; it’s alive and kicking. It does not belong in a cage; it belongs on top of any squonking device currently on the market. I’m sure we’ll see more advances in squonk mods in the following months, and that is going to make this RDA an even better purchase.

The Hellvape Dead Rabbit RDA isn’t the most original, innovative or even attractive dripper on the market – But it might just be the most complete.

Yes, I wish it functioned a little better as a single-coil device, and that the coil placement was really guess-free work. But when built and wicked correctly, paired with Dead Rabbit’s squonking abilities, it produces amazing airflow and some of the most delectable clouds of vapor I’ve experienced. This might just be the RDA that I measure all others by in the future.

Sigelei Sibra F kit – why didn’t they please snakes

Sigelei has also prepared several new products for the trade fair this weekend. Apparently, their serpentine theme was “sucked” because they decided to implement it in all their subsequent products.

I am now wondering if it really “went” so much to the users that the developers now paste over each new item with it. And it is possible that too much material has been purchased, which now has to be put somewhere.

As you know, the set turned out very simple. Therefore, just a couple of words.
Sigelei Sibra F kit - why didn't snakes please you ...
Five colors were suggested, and all of them, as one, are trimmed with “snake scales”.
Sigelei Sibra F kit - why didn't snakes please you ...
The pipe man himself can boast of a built-in battery of a decent capacity, which is unknown how many will have to be charged, with a button of a sufficient size and a connector for charging the battery.
Sigelei Sibra F kit - why didn't snakes please you ...
The connector is a standard 510th, but it’s unlikely to wind up something here. In view of the strange colors, probably, any atoms, except for complete ones, will look wild here.
Sigelei Sibra F kit - why didn't snakes please you ...
According to the characteristics, I think you understand that for sure the novelty will not have any thermal control, although what the hell is not joking.

Aegis MIni By GeekVape Review

Without the slightest doubt I can say that one of the most memorable boxes to me was Aegis from GeekVape . And now I’m talking about the original version, because Legend did not impress me at all. I was sure that the manufacturer will not refuse from this format and will show something else. I would not say that my expectations were fully justified, but overall I am satisfied. Meet Aegis MIni .

Aegis MIni by GeekVape Review

It seems to me that no one will argue with the fact that the younger model was made in the “image and likeness” of the previous model. If to speak roughly, designers simply reduced the first Aegis, added a couple of new solutions and left the most characteristic features. Personally, from the innovations, only the “skeleton” with a faceted surface rushes into my eyes and this decision pleases me directly!

Aegis MIni by GeekVape Review

Dimensions :

Height – 78 mm.
The width is 40 mm.
Thickness – 25 mm.
Weight – 150 g.

Of course, there is no brand name in the form of security device. I would say that Aegis became the first truly protected box, and not just a huge and heavy armored car. I hope that the younger model will not fail in this respect either. The novelty can boast protection in accordance with the IP67 standard, which for everyday use should definitely suffice. It turned out simultaneously and compactly and massively. And for micro usb even provided a stub 🙂

Aegis MIni by GeekVape Review
And without much reflection and analysis it is clear that in the case of this boxing TTX are definitely not in the foreground. But this does not mean that, having concentrated users’ attention on security and design, the guys forgot about the technical component of the issue. Judging by the renders, the novelty uses the same board, then in the older model. At least, the display style of information on the display is the same.

Aegis MIni by GeekVape Review
We will proceed from the fact that GeekVapeeverything is in order with the quality of the products and the work fee will be fine. If we evaluate by numbers, then the mod falls into the middle segment, which many manufacturers are gradually forgetting. There is nothing cosmic, but for the average user should be enough. The only thing that can strain is the built-in battery. But I would not much swear! 2200 mah and charging in 2A is a very good combination!

* The box is sold complete with the Cerberus tank , which you already know.

Aegis MIni by GeekVape Review
– adjustable power range from 1 to 80W;
– Supported resistance of the atomizer – from 0.05 to 3 ohm;
– a temperature limit of 200 to 600 degrees Fahrenheit (100 – 300 Celsius);
– Available modes of operation – TC / TCR / VPS / Bypass;
– the display is 0.96 “;
– the ability to update the firmware.
