Innokin GoMax Tube kit Review- how’s the disposable tank perform?

Innokin GoMax Tube is provided by brands known for their starter kits, but for GoMax Tube, we have a slightly different entry kit. There is a disposable GoMax tank for DTL(direct to lung). The battery tube is as simple as possible.

There is still debate about how many disposable tanks we need and whether they are a good idea. So I’m not going to make any value judgments in this review other than to say that I think they have their place.

What do we expect from Innokin’s GoMax Tube?

Innokin is definitely one of the heavyweights in The Vape’s world, and they seem to be there forever (2011) and offer a variety of toolkits.

GoMax Tube is a bit like a funny beast, not a pod, but some of its DNA is the same. It is a disposable tank, on top of the rechargeable battery.

You can fill the tank with your preferred e-liquid, and when the coil finally burns out, you get stuck and get a new tank (two in the box). But this is not an “entry kit”, but more entry-level sub-ohm kits. Coils and air-flow bags with 0.19 o’s, which do not replace smokers’ roll-ups.

But for those who get rid of the cigarette ignited with the help of the pod system, what does DTL offer? This message is sent free of charge (thank you) for review purposes. As always, my thoughts are with my own, and I am not affected by the freebies.

Design and construction quality

The first thing you may notice is the lightness of the entire unit, which weighs 102 grams. It’s definitely an easy thing to take with you all day and you might even forget about it!

Innokin GoMax Body

The body is a really simple tube design, finished in a nice high gloss paint it’s available in Black (which I received), Yellow Jacket, which is yellow at the bottom fading up to black, and Green, Pink and Blue which all are black at the bottom and fade up to the color.

One side has the GoMax Tube branding at the bottom and the faceted fire button at the top surrounded by a tri-color LED. On the other side the USB charge port is level with this button.

At the bottom of one side is the GoMax Tube brand, a fire button with three LED buttons on the top. On the other side, the USB charging port is flush with this button.

The Disposable Tank

A disposable tank made from PCTG, with black and yellow kits that can be smoked. The green, pink and blue kits have color matching water tanks.

As with other disposables, you can supplement the water with your favorite e-liquid, but when the coil is burned, you will discard the entire tank. You have a wide (9 mm) diameter cigarette butt, although it is only 5 mm wide above the coil.

The top of the slide cover is filled with silicone film, covering the filled port. Airflow regulation is achieved through the one-eyed giant airflow ring at the bottom. When I first received it, I thought it was unadjustable because it was very hard and made from the same PCTG as the rest of the tank, so it could really fit into it.

How To Fill The Innokin GoMax Tank

  1. Find the arrow on the top cover (same as the GoMax brand)
  2. Slide the top cover to open
  3. Push the tip of the bottle over the silicone film and fill it
  4. Sliding top cover closed
  5. Set aside for 5-10 minutes to completely saturate the coil

LED Controls

The single button is 3 clicks on, 3 clicks off. The LED flashes Red, Blue, Green when you switch on, and this order is reversed when you switch it off.

It illuminates when you vape to let you know your battery percentage

  • Green (100-40%)
  • Blue (40-10%)
  • Red (10-1%)

Similarly when it’s charging it will light up

  • Red (Charging, below 90%)
  • Green (Charging, over 90%)
  • LED Off (fully charged)

THE LED LIGHTS ARE VERY BRIGHT AND I’M GLAD INNOKIN INCLUDES A USEFUL COLOR-BASED POWER DISPLAY. This is one of the simple things that many tool kits seem to overlook, but it keeps you from any trouble with battery life.

How does Innokin GoMax Tube work?

I’ve spent my time testing this with a couple of different e-liquids at 70/30 VG/PG.

Innokin GoMax

It’s been a good way for me to continue vape, but I do have some trouble.

A Few Niggles

The ignition switch is nice, but it clicks a bit, but sometimes it seems to stop firing for a second when you’re fogging.

After further testing, it appears that if you do not apply much pressure and let go slightly, there will be very little interference in the ignition.

This is mainly when I use my finger to fire, switch to thumbshot and make sure I do press it to eliminate the problem.

The filling is very easy, and even after a period of use, the resistance on the slide is good and tight.

However, silicone gaskets can be painful, and while they do prevent them from being poured out of filling, preventing the e-liquid from escaping, I often find that the electronic liquid is trapped and bubbling at the top for the following reasons: silicone seals at the end of the bottle.

It’s no big deal, but there are a few things to watch out for when filling in. Ultimately, the charging port is located above the lamp, plus the lightweight of the battery means it’s a bit bulky. I’ve never liked to have my vape stand next to them while charging, but if you stand it vertically, it’s really easy to hit down.

Those out of the way, onto the good stuff!

Innokin GoMax Airflow

Once you’ve identified the airflow that you can actually adjust, I’m very pleased with the changes it brings to you. Full open is really completely open, it’s a very loose DTL vape.

If you don’t like so much airflow, you can turn it off step by step to find your best position, because DTL I found that closing about halfway would give me the best combination of cloud flavor. I really like the hardness of the AFC ring. It is unlikely that you will adjust it unexpectedly.

But it does mean that I often find myself having to hold the top of the tank to make it slide.

For coils that are essentially inventory, I find the cloud production very impressive.

Although it’s not as dense or sparse as it can pull out, if you want to remove some clouds, it works well! However, if you prefer, you can turn off this function further and then turn it off all the time, you can actually handle a fairly loose mouth-to-lung (MTL) vape.

Innokin GoMax Flavor

The Plex 3D Mesh coils from Innokin are definitely little flavor bangers. It’s a relatively cool vape, but really accurate and great at separating out the different flavor notes in your e-liquid.

GoMax Tube Plex3d Coils

I injected 100ml ejuice into the first tank, but I was just beginning to notice that the taste had declined. Innokin says you can add it 15 times, of which 5.5 ml can be filled with 82.5 ml of e-liquid.

What I’m trying to say is that they’re a little conservative here! Obviously, the type of ejuice you use can affect this effect, and ejuice, which contains a lot of sweeteners, can lead to a shorter life span.

Battery and Power

When you run out of battery power, I’m not sure if it’s in a regulated state, providing constant output power or unregulated.

The tank is rated at 60-80W, which appears to be an explosion for unregulated tubes.

Having said that, I can’t notice a clear difference between a fully charged battery and a battery that is running out of power. Although the 3000mAh sounds a lot more than many other starter kits on the market, because it provides enough power to pump directly to the lungs (DTL), it does run out very quickly, and I find myself having to recharge most days before the end of the charge.

  • Great flavor
  • Good cloud production
  • Really easy to use kit

  • Filling can sometimes be a pain
  • Stiff AFC (subjective)

Final Review Thoughts

So who am I going to recommend the Innokin GoMax Tube Kit? It should be clear now that I have a high opinion of it. Personally, I say this can meet the needs of about 3 different types of people.

  1. Products that go from cigarettes to pod systems and want to try DTL while maintaining all ease of use
  2. Mouth to Lung (MTL) vapers that want to try a Direct to Lung (DTL) sub-ohm vape without necessarily investing in a whole new tank if they don’t like (maybe just get the tank rather than the kit though)
  3. If people want a decent backup e-cigarette while on vacation or away from home and they don’t want to bring a more expensive toolbox.

Good enough, I’m happy to be able to use it as a major DTL device, with a great flavor, and very easy to use. Did you purchase the Innokin GoMax Tube Suite? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
